When the heart is not being nurtured and left to the world's beatings, it bleeds and turns calloused.

Childhood and adolescence constitute the formative years of a person's life.

Many factors lead to youths joining gangs or going into occult practices... or living a life of denial and withdrawal, engaging in self depreciative talk and self mutilation.

Broken families, absent fathers, lack of love, lack of social belonging... first the heart bleeds.

Then it turns calloused.

Still.

We cannot choose which family we're born into or where we're born in... we cannot choose how others treated us when we're young, nor can we choose the things we want to do as a child.

But as we mature as human beings, we can choose how to live the life that's ahead of us.

And even if you don't believe for now... God loves you... He really does.
